TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE VALIDATION OF A CATEGORY 1 CPD EVENT

​SAIAT is mandated by SACAP's Board Notice 839 of 2025: Continuing Professional Development and Renewal of Registration, to validate Category 1 CPD events presented by third parties.

​An Application Fee of R650.00 (incl VAT) is payable by the entity applying for validation of an event once an application is assessed. An invoice will be generated and e-mailed to the applicant, payable regardless of the assessment outcome.

Upon SAIAT's (validation) approval of the application, the following fees (VAT Inclusive) will become due. The applicant will receive an invoice from SAIAT that includes all relevant payment details.  A provider may advertise and present an event as validated only after the invoiced fees are paid in full.

As of 23 February 2026, the validation fees listed below will apply to all new validations. Validations done for a maximum period of three (3) years before 23 February 2026, may remain on request as per the original agreement, but an additional fee (see SAIAT website) will be payable for the automation of attendance registers, which will ensure the speedy issuing of CPD certificates to delegates, as well as the hosting of online events on the SAIAT Foundation platform. If the continuation of the original agreement is preferred, please note that the requirements for submitting attendance registers and issuing CPD certificates will remain as they were before 23 February 2026.

All annual renewals for events validated before 23 February 2026 will be pro-rated for the balance of 2026.
 
Once-off hosted event: R5 000.00 per day, or part thereof.

Renewals will be invoiced in August each year and must be paid in full by 31 December to remain valid. An administrative fee of 20% will be charged on late payments. Note that SAIAT will not issue any certificates unless validation fees are paid in full.

    Repeated event 1 - 5 hours:  R10 000.00 per year
    Repeated event full day:  R17 500.00 per year
    Repeated event more than one day:  R25 000.00 per year 

A validation remains valid until a cancellation request by e-mail is received, provided the approval conditions are maintained, and the annual renewal fee is paid.

The validation of an event will include a compulsory registration service via our e-Portal for live in-person, live online, and on-demand online events—all online events must be streamed through the SAIAT Foundations platform. The registration for an event can be done through the placement of an online registration form on the SAIAT e-Portal or by providing SAIAT with a CSV list at least two (2) business days before the event.

If any event require the payment of a fee, a seperate agreement may be enetered into between the parties for SAIAT to handle online payments via the Yoco payment gateway - a percentage of the fee charged will be retained and invoiced for by SAIAT to cover costs. Note that the Registration through the SAIAT e-Port will replace the submission of attendance registers for all events. This will speed up the automatic issuance of CPD certificates to attendees on the SAIAT e-Platform for download. Details will be supplied in the validation letter that will be issued on the approval of the validation.
