ABOUT THIS CPD EVENT

A new draft edition of SANS10400-S (Access for people with disabilities) was published in September 2024 for public comment.

To enable architectural professionals (and others) to better understand the proposed requirements, this event will focus on the legislative issues behind the deemed-to-satisfy rules as well as the requirements itself.

Although making use of the online platform, the event will be live and participants will be able to comment and ask questions during the event.

Frans Dekker is the Managing Director of SAIAT and since 2008 has been involved in presenting CPD workshops for SAIAT.

He is representing SAIAT on theTechnical Committee TC060 (Standards related to the National Building Regulations) of the SABS and is the convenor of the working group responsible for the writing of the 4th edition of SANS 10400-S. He is also the chairperson of Subcomittee 4 (Universal Design) of Technical Committe TC059 (Building Standards) of the SABS.
